New Pattern...Snazzy Striped Totes

Have you ever been stuck on something that you just can't seem to finish?

This pattern has kind of felt like that for me.  I started this quest way back last April and had made six of them to show at Quilt Market.  But then the pattern just sat on my desk while it 'seasoned', as I like to call it, until it got down to the wire and I had to get it done for the class I'm teaching on it next week.

I'm really happy to have it done because I know a lot of you were waiting to make these super fun totes.  I really hope you enjoy making them and using them.

The pattern includes three sizes.

Happy Tote Sewing!

New Pattern

Seems as though I go into a time warp when I'm working on a new pattern.  I don't mean to ignore you, but it's so very hard to find the time to blog and produce a new pattern at the same time.

But I am back to introduce my newest quilt pattern "Under the Big Top"

I've mostly been doing bag patterns and I'm just so thrilled to have quilt patterns popping into my head.  For the past year, I've been sketching and dreaming of all the new quilts I want to make.

I'm always thinking about creative ways to use up fabric from my stash.  And this quilt does just that -  it uses 30 Fat Quarters.  And since I have tubs and tubs of Fat Quarters...this was just the ticket.

Oh, and did I happen to mention I love the hourglass block too.  And imagine my surprise when I accidently created the little hourglasses in the corners of the big hourglasses.  My favorite part is how the little hourglasses are included in the first border.

It was magic how the name of the quilt just popped into my head while making the quilt...it just seemed to fit.  The model is my beautiful sister.

What do you think about this pattern in solids?  Ooooh, I think that is my next project. :)

Show and Tell Tuesday...New Pattern

Announcing....my newest pattern.  The Sally Bag!

Named after my dear friend who I work with at the fabric store.  She asked me to make her a bag...she loved it...had a lot of people want the pattern, so here it is.

It's a simple bag to make with a pocket on the outside for keys and phone.  The inside has 6 pockets, Yes, I said 6!  And it could have more depending on how you customize them.

The strap is long enough to put over your head or it can be shortened.  Bag closure is Velcro.

To give the bag more form I used Soft and Stable (a thin foam like material)...love the stuff!

I guarantee this is an easy bag to make...let me know if you have any questions.  Pattern can be purchased on my website, Etsy, or at Greenbaum's Quilted Forest.  It will also be on display at International Quilt Market in Portland in May!

Thank you Timeless Treasures for the fabric!

ps. the model is my daughter...sorry you can't see her beautiful face.
